deliciousIn an effort to coerce the public into believing that Windows Vista really wasn’t a failure, Microsoft released a series of ads featuring the illustrious, and hilarious, Jerry Seinfeld with hopes that the commercials would restore the faith of the non-believers (who may have moved on to better things—like the Church of Apple).

When trying to explain how a particular feature works on a Mac to someone who isn’t in the same room as you, sometimes only a video will do. A handful of applications exist to help you perform this task, but they've all been blown away by a newcomer, ScreenFlow.

screen shot of app iWork08I recently bought iWork ’08. I put the DVD into my drive, but when I double-clicked the installer, an error message said, “No default application specified to open the document iWork08.mpkg. Choose application.” Why can’t I install this program?

paxWith all of the console and PC love we found exuding throughout the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo, we wondered if there was any love left for the Mac. (You know, assuming there was any there in the first place.) Not to worry, we found it, bubbling right below the surface.

Criticizing the Mino is easy on paper. The video quality isn’t any better than what your point-and-shoot digital camera can do. It doesn’t look (or feel) like a “real” camera. It doesn’t take standard batteries. But the truth is, none of those things matter once you actually use one.

sporn

spore

Spore sprouts a new world, growing and changing in unexpected ways. Part game, part design program, and always playful, Spore leads you on a journey from tiny creature to colonizer of the galaxy. You create the experience as much as the developers at EA’s Maxis studio; you build the main creature, vehicles, structures, and even adapt whole planets along the way. And your choices determine your path; choosing an herbivore mouth for an early creature might eventually lead you to form a peaceful society that negotiates its way out of trouble.

fingerA developer emailed MacRumors with a sad tale of Apple rejection. His iTunes App Store submission, Pull My Finger, was rejected due to its "limited utility." The app does exactly what you would expect it to do and you can check out the developers demo in the video below.
